Easter Seals provides a variety of Special Recreation programs through out the five county area. We have recreation programs for children age 2 and older. All Easter Seals programs are open to any family no matter what county a family lives in. Recreation programs operate in seasonal increments. All programs require registration. At this time, all recreation programs are free of charge (not including our camps).

Subsidiary Programs

Easter Seals Chester County Programs:
Teen Club: A social program for teens age 12 and older. We meet at the Thorndale Methodist Church on the first and third Fridays of the month from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Our Spring dates are 4/6, 4/20, 5/4 and 5/18. We take the summer off and begin meeting again in October.
Aquability: This is a family swimming program. We meet at the Lionville YMCA on Friday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Our Spring dates are 4/20 to 5/18. Children must swim with a responsible person. We play games, assist with basic swimming skills and have free time. Siblings are welcome. Children age 2 and older.
Computer Club: This program is for children with disabilities age 3 to 12 years. We meet on Tuesdays from 4:15 to 5:15pm at Easter Seals in Downingtown. Our Spring dates are 4/24 to 5/22. Children get to try out new adaptive equipment and games in a social environment.
Other recreation programs in the five county area: More Than Beautiful, Adult Arts, Saturday Night Out, Parents Night Out, Day Camp, Sibling Camp, Special Events.

Staff Qualifications

All programs are overseen by a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. All supervisors of programs are 21 years and older. All program staff have experience working with children with disabilities.
